A little bit about Reverend Keith…

Favourite childhood memory….waiting at the top of the stairs on Christmas morning trying to catch a glimpse through the reflection in family pictures of what awaited us downstairs by the tree

If I could spend my day doing anything I’d….be outside somewhere with Noella, perhaps near water, hiking, paddling and later eating a meal together with friends drinking good wine or a local craft beer

Favourite food…pizza, deep dish preferably with all the toppings, well…except anchovies and pineapple

What I like best about Stratford…the beauty, arts, culture and friendliness.  People invest themselves in the community and care about the place.  The blend of the agricultural, factory, small business and theatre influence makes it an interesting place to live.

What gives me life through my work with Avondale United Church…witnessing the courageous, inspired, playful and committed work of those part of this Church.  It is a group of people who don’t always agree and yet find a way to care for each other, the community and world through it all.

One thing I learned in school…the awareness of how little I know and how much there still is to learn!

The song I get up and dance to…Upside Down by Jack Johnson

If I weren’t doing this gig, I’d be…with a professional baseball team…ok, realistically…I’d probably be in education some way or working in a L’Arche community

The most beautiful thing I’ve seen…the faces of my three children

Favourite childhood memory….growing up on a farm in Huron County, we had plenty of snow days from school.  I have fond memories of being snowbound and playing board games and drinking hot chocolate with my parents and two brothers.

If I could spend my day doing anything I’d….go for a quiet walk or bike ride in the woods.

Favourite food…chocolate!  And thanks to the ingenuity of my daughter, I am able enjoy it and still follow Canada’s Food Guide:  Meat and Alternatives – chocolate-covered nuts, Grains – chocolate-dipped rice krispie squares, Fruits and Vegetables – chocolate-covered strawberries, Milk and Alternatives – milk chocolate.  How sweet it is!

What I like best about Stratford…the intermingling of rural and urban and arts; how cool is it to see a limousine and a John Deere tractor together in a Tim Horton’s parking lot?

What gives me life through my work with Avondale United Church…the laughter and goodwill of the people.

One thing I learned in school…there is so much to discover, and we should never stop pursuing knowledge or broadening ourselves.

The song I get up and dance to…only one?  That’s too difficult for a music director!  There are so many from just about any decade…..except the 70s!

If I weren’t doing this gig, I’d be…studying law.  Wait!  I am…..and am blessed to be doing both gigs!

The most beautiful thing I’ve seen…my son and daughter, when young, holding hands while running and giggling in the rain.
